Individual therapy is a powerful and transformative process that can change your life on an exponential level if you are willing to show up to do the work.
You may feel weak for needing this kind of support, but expecting yourself to have all the answers is not only unrealistic, but unfair.
Think about all of the every day struggles in your life that you willingly pay someone to help you with. It might be fixing a plumbing issue in your house, repairing your car, or tailoring a pair of pants. Why do you expect yourself to “know” how to fix all of your problems when you feel no shame about not being capable of doing so many other things?
You need and deserve the opportunity to sit with a non-judgmental, objective other to gain clarity, and a fresh perspective on what is ultimately blocking you from being your best self.
Research shows that your relational experiences shape who you are, and greatly influence how you see and experience the world.
It is my belief that long-term change cannot happen without making sense of how your past has impacted you on a psychological level, and how these experiences influence your present functioning.
My job as your therapist will be to interpret or translate your thoughts, feelings and actions into a language that we can both understand. Your job will be garnering the courage to be as open and honest as possible, and to take responsibility for improving your sense of wellbeing.
